Cristiano Ronaldo is at the moment, the best player in football. He's had the best year, filled with the best stats. They're just about incomparable. For me, he's a unique player because of his body. I can't remember ever thinking: Hey that guy is built for football. But with Ronaldo, I feel like his body is built precisely for football. He has size, muscle, strength, endurance, speed, stamina, power and health. That makes him a very good player. One of the top in the world! Now to that you add his skills and work rate. He trains hard and want to win every game he plays.
I mentioned health; he dazzles but rarely gets injured. Thats a noteworthy accomplishment. I've never really seen him injured, where he's missed a sequence of games.
It's rare that we see a player of his caliber. Of course, he's one of the best assets any team could have. Having said all that, he's just one player. He's not worth a trillion dollars. Man Untd also probable have the deepest team in the prem anyways. It's by no means the end of the world for man u and co. if they sell him. They'll get lots of money, maybe Robinho or Ramos (imagine Evra LB and Ramos RB!!!!) and they're already prem title holders and Champions Leagues winners. Theres absolutely nothing to worry about for Man utd fans.
If anything, Real Madrid's pursuit of the winger has looked down right desperate. You wouldn't think they had won la liga for the 2nd consecutive year. Adding Ronaldo to the team would definitely make them favorites for European glory, though. They already have a strong Dutch contingency, that'll all play better next year (hopefully ruud can keep this form for a few more years)and Euro cup winners Ramos and Casillas.
Things can work out for both teams.
